Susi Thomas

“Christo’s fabric for ‘Running Fence’ has its own character,” says Susi Thomas, “and the concept of taking that fabric and running it over the hills of California was very intriguing. Remembering his work through my own artistic interpretation helps bring it all back to life.”

Susi Thomas is a fine artist residing in Michigan, painting commissioned works for private and corporate clients. Her murals grace the walls of numerous restaurants, commercial offices and retail facilities. Her main medium is acrylics, but she also works with pastels, painting a wide variety of subjects. She uses ideas from her clients as a springboard to create specialized works for their spaces, fitting any individual’s style and taste. Her uncanny instinct to create a vision for specific locations has provided her with an impeccable reputation and growing clientele.

Susi Thomas studied fine art under the tutelage of Evelyn McFall, an accomplished painter in Chesaning, Michigan. Thomas then began freelance painting in 1995 and added a partner to her business in 2002. She is always looking for new techniques and approaches to her art, and the unique pieces she has created from the Running Fence panel fabric demonstrate her extensive abilities.
